During nomad I was routinely passing time for 12 hours and it would only drain my thirst about 2/3 of the way. I did complete the challenge, but it took me 94 in game days, my only time spent outside was either traveling from location to location, or hunting/harvesting carcasses. 94 days is four days of travel/hunting, and 6 days per location. It can be accessed via walking up the mountain (from the south) or by taking a set of 2 ropes located near Draft Dodger's Cabin. In front of one of the burnt down houses lies an accessible Basement Area that acts as an 'instance' entrance (so safe from wolves and bears). This area is one of the areas where the player is required to spend 3 Days inside of for the Nomad Challenge.
